O 802.11n (também conhecido por High Throughput Wi-Fi ou Wi-Fi Turbinado ou MIMO Wi-Fi) já foi anteriormente discutido aqui na VsF. Trata-se de um padrão cuja velocidade supera com grande vantagem os 54 Mbps do 802.11g. Além disso, Wireless-N consegue abranger uma área maior em relação ao G. Alguns afirmam que esta diferença é de 4 vezes.

Alguns produtos já usam o 802.11n (Draft). É o caso da N-Series da Linksys - divisão da Cisco Systems. Esta série já está fazendo grande sucesso e promete novidades cada vez mais atraentes. “Um número significativo de produtos tanto para casa como para pequenas empresas dependerão em breve da compatibilidade com o Wireless-N para alcançar todo o seu potencial”, disse Malachy Moynihan - vice-presidente e gerente-geral de Redes Domésticas da Linksys.
